Well I bet ETc are, title should have been changed from day one by mods.

One thing calling people for being sloppy, or for bad service, but to be critisized for being vat registered is going to far!

I don't think they have secret friends at all, I just think common sense prevailed. I still cannot get over the fact that you think you can slag off, or slander, another company without have any grounds whatsoever to do so!

Its OK I understand pressure from a couple of members didn't help, the chap from ETc when I asked got right up my nose with his arrogant way of explaining why, it might have helped if he was polite and not talked down to me as if I didn't have a right to query the bill. Understand the vat, just angry that their charges on postage was greedy and then vat and take it or leave manner, Maybe I should have waited a bit before posting, as I was angry at their telephone manner which needs working on. Still postage is a great way for companies to grab extra money back, lower the price of product, but have high postage to take back what you reduce.

Sorry Jennywren, I didn't read that with your post, it seemed more about the vat than high postage prices.
Service is everything and I doubt very much whether you'll be going back to them - what ever happened to the customer is always right.

As I said I should have waited longer to do my post rather than straight away, I did word it poorly, I have dealt with etc quite a few times before and written on this forum about a steamer and rated it good. Their front of staff that take your orders are good, but as soon as I ask to speak to someone about the excess postal charges charges, everything changed I became a pain in the butt. The tone went for can I help you to so what. If the postal charges are high. Then is more vat, and higher bill, and for the weight and size of parcel I saw a red haze in front of my eyes and got trigger happy with the keyboard, I telephone the order in so did not see the postage charge till it arrived, but two people saying change it is not very democratic. But if this is the way it is then I have to bend to the will of the members and the majority.

I have ordered of ECT supplies and on top there delivery charge they also charge VAT I have spoken to the accounts department but they said it was the government fault. It was a waste of time talking to them I had some snotty man who spoke like the tax Man. I won't be buying of them again
Jennywren, I'm not saying change it as its not democratic - I suggest you re-read your original post copied above - you are implying they are doing something underhand by charging vat on postage. If you had worded the original post as "being ripped off with postage charges" and the title "etc - postage charge rip off" nobody would have battered an eyelid as its got nothing to do with vat.
