Hi
following on from my dash :)
i've been thinking about making it out of ally

what is the finish like with subbing onto ally?
i have never tried it or seen the finish

xpres aluminium in white is nice and glossy. i love it. but only white, if silver i preffer brushed effect.

i dont scratch mine :) but it looks very solid. I have some pictures printed and from time to time I wipe it with some pledge to get rid of the dust. looks like new. no damge or nothing.

as xpress the sizes are too small for what i want
500mm x 400mm roughly

Could you not make it out of ally composite panel and then get it engraved?

Have a word with BMS as they can cut you metal to suit the size, several finishes IIRC and seems to print nicely.

Subli aluminium will scratch if used as a dash. I do like the brushed silver finish but all depends what you need to match it to.

I doubt you will get that size (even from BMS) as the standard sheets are 600 x 300 or thereabouts.

Would sub metal be uv stable - I was thinking if on a boat it would be open to the elements and fade quite quickly.
