Re: A3+ printer recommendations

Post by Lorcan »

My trusty Epson Stylus Pro 4400 has a blocked head and it seems that nothing will shift it, so I'm looking at getting a replacement printer, at least in the short term.

Epson recommend their R3000 at £600ish, are refillable carts or CIS available for this model? There's also a few R1800s and R2400s on ebay which look similar. Any other suggestions? I need A3+, not just A3.

Are you looking at using the printer for Sublimation or normal ink?

Does anyone sell all the different shades of black in dye-sub ink for that printer? I've not heard of that.

If it's only for short-term use, then you may want to consider the desktop B1100 (CMYK) or R1400 (CcMmYK) printers. These are both 13" wide models and quite a bit cheaper than the R3000. Both of these printers have refillable cartridges (quite small) and CISS generally available.

Thanks guys, the B1100 at £149 from Amazon and refillable cartridges £12.99 on ebay are looking like the best route back into business at the moment.
