Sub Towels
Re: Sub Towels
Hi all
I purchased a few hand towels to try and have a problem.
The towels are only printable on a strip at one end of the towel.
I did my first one and it looked really great.
Then I did the other side and it was dull and not right at all.
I tried another towel and this one was dull and very wishy washy.
I tried the other side and it was vibrant and looked great.
All four prints were done at the same time. All the same pressure/heat/timings.
One side of either towel great the other side terrible.
Obviously they must only be printable on one side?
But....How do i tell which side?
I cannot see any difference and it seems to me I have a 50/50 chance of getting the right side.
Has anyone else tried towels? They are the terrytoweling type and have a band at one end the width of the towel and about 3in wide.

Re: Sub Towels
ok i have these from xpres, theres a label on one side which says print logic would say thats the print side but i get far better results printing on the other side, im afraid the tech line at expres was less than helpful on this point as they didnt seem to know what side to print
Re: Sub Towels
Thanks for that.
I have a label too.
My label is on the opposite end to the strip and says 94% Baumwolle 6% Polyester.
Nothing about printing side?
My towels were from BMS.
I get one side coming our fantastic but the other side terrible. I have ruined two and do not want to waste any more.
I actually gave those two away to a friend as I felt i couldnt charge.
They need to be advertised as printable on one side only if that is the case and clearly marked which side that is.
I had no instructions?
As I said i have tried 4 prints on two towels all exactly the same times temps pressures and all done within minutes of each other and both towels have one good side and one bad side.

Re: Sub Towels
ok i tried printing on the opposite side tgo what i normally print and the results are pretty dire the image is washed out and quite faded so id say its definatly just the one side you need to print tony and that would be the opposite side to the label if you are using xpres towels
Re: Sub Towels
Thanks
I will ask my friend to look which side the print is good.
IE whether it is the label side or not.
I am not best pleased that the towels are not advertised as one side only and CLEAR instructions as to what side.
Basically a tenner down due to no instructions.

Re: Sub Towels
i think the description refers to the main body of material paul. the printable panel is only a 7cm wide strip i suppose that'd be polyesterPaul;32312 wrote:this is wired as how comes it can content only 6% of polyester and 94% of cotton and is still advertised as sublimation printable??
Re: Sub Towels

Re: Sub Towels
As i said i cant talk for the BMS towels im assuming they are very similar Its only the upper side which is printable so im assuming they have some sort of polyester top weave. It can be confusing as the towels i use had a label that says print but this is on the unprintable side so it`d be easy to get caught out the hem of the towel gives away which side is the front i suppose, i guess i was just lucky in getting it right first time. To be fair tony i can see your frustration at losing a tenners worth of stock but have you been in touch with BMS the guys there are pretty much spot on when it comes to customer service i wouldnt mind betting theyd replace the two towels for you (scotts probably cringing at that now). Unfortunatly thats the nature of the game we are in what works for some dont always work for others i spent a fair bit on glass tumblers each one broke on pressing an expensive lesson . when costing you should always follow a formula . ie cost price + paper + ink + utilities + wastage + mark up. Im sure theres a few more plus's that people would add to that
