Someone press my button

Just noticed what the little green bar is for underneath users names. Reputation bars. Do these ever get used? How many times do I need my star button to get pressed before I get 2 green dots?

Reputation (karma) is worked out in several ways, days registered on the forum, number of posts made. Also, karma points can be issued by clicking the star/medal symbol which is similar to thanking users for a post.

Newbies and oldies seem to have the current same rep. I thought it was all down to the click of the star button. Don't think it's ever been used as far as I can tell. I hadn't even noticed before really.

On the bike forum I'm a member of you can rate posts positively or negatively for a number of reasons (funny, helpful, abusive, boring etc.) which increases or decreases a member's karma.

Member's go from white to green (up to 5 blobs) then gold (up to 5 blobs).

Your karma gives an indication of your standing in the forum. I'm a gold blobber of course :biggrin:
