ok. this is how i would do this:

draw your design, letters, digit or shape. thenclick right mouse button and convert to the curves
Image

2.
choice a hair line
Image

3.
change colour to transparent
Image

4.
now pick text tool and slowely touch cursor to the line. if you tuch line you shoukld see A letter on th curve. if you go bit more inside the shape you should see AB inside the rectangle. clik it when you see AB in rectangle :)
Now you in :)
Image

5.
now type whatever you like or paste your text :)

hope this help a little :)

I was trying but had then got no where - then i thought, silly when i went through your screen shots, the image i had was two line when you see it in outline - so it was trying to fit the text inbetween the 2 outline images lol, and i thought i was going mad only when i went through yours step by step it made sense

What about using the powerclip tool?

Jack.
If at first you don't succeed, read the manual.
