Have you been opening your shop late nights - has it been worth it ?? our sales are up this year, but i cant see a particular trend to items sold as in most years, i still cant believe they say only 11% of sales are via the internet, i would have said it was far higher, even my mums shopped this year on amazon a lot, as she finds it easier in her 70's than facing the high street.

Yes I having been open Thursday night, and each time the weather has been appalling, and I took very little money, but It help that when the few that came in I had time to build bridges for the future, also give the shop a good dust and clean, but money wise no, but you can never tell how it's going to work out, we have a saying, if you don't try they won't buy. Mind you it would be nice to have a crystal ball for now when to open or close.

there's nothing more soul destroying than having a shop and not seeing any or very few customers all day

but there's also nothing better than thinking to yourself i'll stay open right until the end
and then 5 minutes before your due to close someone comes in and you sell something expensive or get a big order
your then glad you did stay til the end

thank heavens for internet tho as that helps ease the boredom while alone in a shop
i keep thinking about a shop as well as on-line but it's a huge step and i'll need a lot of capital
