haha don't mention the ducks
here at beccles quay we have muscovy ducks, which are american ducks a lot bigger than the british ones
but they are so friendly they eat out of your hand when i feed them their supper in the eve there's one who tries to climb on my lap and lets me stroke him/her while it's eating
they are silly really cos if anyone walks around they follow them
in the morning when the wifey goes to work they are all waiting outside the boat hoping i'll give them breakfast
we have an old dear who comes every morning and feeds them and they wait at the path for her and in the eve just before it gets dark they wait on the path for their supper
amazing how they know the times they get feed init
bless them
in oct there was a horrid woman who came down with her dog and she deliberately threw the stick into the ducks so her dog would chase it.
the dog ignored the stick and went for the ducks as they are quite big they don't move very well and this dog had a duck
it was horrid watching it shake it about
i managed to chase the dog away and gave the woman a few choice words to which her reply was 'it's nature you ** ' so i picked the duck up out of harms way
the harbour master asked for her details and she refused so her called the police who came and made her provide them as her dog was loose it was breaking the law, plus the fact she told me to f* off
we rushed the duck up the vets but it was so badly injured he couldn't save it
but the duck loved the drive up to the vets it was looking out of the window at the scenery bless it
i was covered in blood tho yuk
it really does annoy me when owners let their dogs run loose around wildlife i'm a dog owner but i'd never let her loose even tho she's scared stiff of these ducks
i brought her up to ignore wildlife but even so i'd never let her run loose around them

anyhow rant over lol :)
