Printing on vinyl.

We have been asked to design and print some vehicle vinyls. Can vinyl be printed on a Brother J5910DW with solvent inks using refillable cartridges, or would the vinyl stick in the printer?

We can't afford a Roland BN-20 at the moment so I was thinking along the lines of using a deskjet (with solvent inks to help with longevity of the print) and the a silhouette cameo cutter we already use to to cut the outlines after.

you would need to use digital vinyl(which i not cheap) and would advise using the solvent ink in that printer .Why not use a trade printer or local signmaker that does digital print and sub the work out less hassle for you and just add a percentage on .

Thanks Gary,
I was thinking that the likes of Roland BN-20 used solvent inks to print on vinyl (I have probably got that wrong) and if I used the same type of inks in the Brother J5910DW it would print if the vinyl went through.
It's looking very much towards subbing the job at the moment, as I have already been given a contact number of a member of the forum. Just got to get the design OK'd past the first stage.
