Love well done tattoos, I've got loads over the last 30 years and find people are more tolerant of them now(My mum still hates mine).
I do however hate trendy tattoos, like acrooss the small of the back, just above trouser level.

Much the same, love great tatts, hate poor ones. A good tat is a stunning piece of artwork. I've wanted tattoos for as long as I can remember but I never got the designs right (just yet)

In recent years my interest has decreased since they became more 'fashionable'. Everyone seems to have them now and not always for the right reasons. I believe they should be very personal to the owner, meaningful and well thought out. When I finally do get mine done it will be for me, I'm not bothered if others can see them or like them, it's not about showing off.

I guess we (partly) have shows like LA Ink etc. to blame for this. The work they do on these shows is incredible but for me at least it's brought something personal into the mainstream and made them trendy which is a turn off.

I have 4 in total the last done about 20 odd years ago. Each one was done for a reason, they might not be to some of the standards seen today, but at the time were the best avaliable.

I would have to agree that trends have madfe them less personel these days. I also dont hide mine, they are there they are part of me.

I really do hate dophins, stars, disney and so on. That isn't art and should be left in the kiddies water slide decal mashines :-)

I have a friend who had many tattoos when he was going through, let's just say, difficult times. He has a huge tattoo on his back, I won't describe it as I can think of nothing more offensive but needless to say when we first saw it through his white work shirt it was a shock. He had tattoos removed off his hands, he reckoned it was about x10 more painful than having them put on and x10 more expensive! He had huge blisters for ages after but when it all calmed down he was just left with slight scarring.

Whilst he wasn't really that bothered about the tatts he was finding job interviews etc. difficult as many folk quickly make assumptions about tattoos rightly or wrongly (and these weren't the offensive ones)

I've got 24 some good, some not so good. My only regret is having many small ones to start with instead of saving up for larger ones, that would look less bitty.

Some of the cover up work is also incredible, that's an art in itself!
