doc wants to send me for a colonoscopy if nothing else works(pills/diet change ect )....er....aye i said...that will be the VERY LAST RESORT:rolleyes: - my mate had this done ( crohn's disease) and he said avoid it at all costs if you can...sore and very, very unpleasant.....and your wide awake to !

will see how cutting out spicy/fatty foods and ALL alcohol for a month does....:frown:
I have suffered from Diverticulitis for the past 9 years,so I do know the absolute agony that you can suffer.
After a heart bypass op in 2002 the doctors put me on co-codamol, (with out of course warning me of the constipation side effect). After a while without realizing it I had gone about three weeks with bowel movement, and then one saturday morning I was hit with extreme bowel pains, after the wife calling out the doctor He suggested a laxative and said the pain would stop after bowel movement. It didn't and the sent out the district nurse, whom I greeted with a toilet of pure blood. a couple of hours later the ambulance arrived and after a lot of prodding in the hospital they finally gave me a pain relief ijection in the buttock. For the first week I was put on a drip and not allowed any food until the bleeding stopped.
After 4 weeks in hospital (injection in the buttocks every four hours) and lots of tests ( the barium enema being the most uncomfortable) they decided it was Diverticulitis and sent me home to suffer with just some pills to help.
During their medical examinations they did find a lump inside the bowel which they said was non-malignant, but of course they needed to keep a check on it, so that meant regular colonoscopy
check ups. If you ask for the relaxant injection then it isn't that bad, pain wise just uncomfortable and dignity wise after the injection who gives a damn.
I did find that after coming off blood thinning medication last year ( to have a bionic knee fitted) a lot of the severe stomach cramp pains stopped.

Sorry to have been so long winded (Pun intended)

Hi - if its IBS - and you haven't already tried it - then try Aloe Vera gel drinks from Forever Living Products.
Yes its run as a Network Marketing business (and sometimes it takes a bit of tracking down to find a supplier), but the stuff works... its got a 60-day money-back guarantee.
They have 100's of health products, and if you decide to join them, rather than just buy as a customer, you get it discounted. I'm not trying to get you on to it, I dont sell it anymore - but I still use the products from time to time.

I also had my gald bladder out many years ago - had some major pain in the gut and was the only time 'pain' had reduced me to tears with what can only be described as a pain like forks going in my shoulder blades.

Now, my diet is WIERD and I can't eat certain things as they go (sorry for this) straight through me.

Problems like this are not very nice and are very uncomfortable - hope you get sorted soon buddy :)
