Cutter .. Cameo ?

Dunno if anyone else as noticed this but the new update i received this week for the Cameo as messed up the Viny cutting settings .. On standard Heatpress vinyl it tells yout to set the blade to 2 and the speed sets auto to 8 and thickness to 7 (lmao) doesnt even scratch it ..

Luckly i wrote down some custom settings for future use and for standard vinyl i use 7 speed : thickness 17 : blade setting 2 .. Works perfect (for me)

Yes I have heard that 2.5.8 has removed a lot of the old settings and replaced them with new ones. It's also introduced a lot of new media, so I wonder whether the new blade design is imminent. I haven't updated the software on mine yet purely because the last update caused me a lot of problems.

my cameo is getting ordered on monday coming.....
will also be ordering the Silhouette Studio® Designer Edition so i can get the rhinestone bit of the software with it.

what material do you guys use for making up your own templates for rhinstones with the cameo ?

I don't think they're bugs as such, its just that this update has removed some of the old media cutting settings which has annoyed a few people.

I've not updated to 2.5.8 simply because the last update 2.5.0 wouldn't work with my laptop (missing .dlls etc), but Silhouette America were very helpful and provided a 2.5.1 for me which is currently working great...I'm not ready for more potential problems unless the update is worth the hassle! 2.5.0 works on most PC's by the way, I was one of the unlucky ones.

I've just upgraded to Designer Edition so haven't tried rhinestones yet, but I know Silhouette America have a YouTube channel with various tutorials including rhinestones, so it might be worth searching that out. )

but at £44 for the software, seems a tad steep...thought it was only £25

buying machine tonight cause i was to dam busy monday to even fart :rolleyes:.

They also do the rhinestone started pack as well....if i need it

would it be wise to be a spare blade while i,m there ?.....how long do these blades last cutting just vinyl ?
