I hope you are all out enjoying this lovely weather we are having whilst it lasts....but if you are like me then you'll have the laptop out regardless!!!

I'm Simon, MD of a specialist printing company and now a specialist embroidery company too! We've been around for 20 years and this last week aquired a small business who specialise in embroidery within a niche market.

Just thought i'd say hello and I hope to get stuck in and learn from some of you and hopefully help share some of my knowledge too :)

Hi Simon,

I always thought Dye Sublimation was a niche market but there appears to be loads of us in it lol

I think that a lot of us enjoy experimenting with what we can do in the hope of offering our clients something innovative.

So I for one welcome you to the forum and looking forward to your input over time.

If funds allowed, or if someone offered me an affordable embroidery machine then I would love to have a go just for the satisfaction I would feel trying it out. My wife knows that one day I will build myself a 3D printer from a kit just because they also fascinate me and I would love to print a three dimensional solid object on one.

Till then I will experiment with my dye sublimation items and my cutter until I find that item that sells.

Richard

Hi Richard,

We do very little dye-sub actually. Our print niche is far smaller than that hence our 20 year existance! There appear to be several "hobby" embroidery machines in use across the land, in fact the forums are full of people using hobby machines and very few with professional kit like ours which for its versatility, ease of use, speed etc. really wasnt that expensive!!

3D printers - now they are really cool, when I was in Engineering I got to play with them a bit :)
