So you just cut the lettering out mirrored, weed and then you have your lettering on clear carrier. You then just place over your shirt and press through the clear carrier, then peel the carrier away and repress for a few secs to make sure. The only issue I have with it is it comes rolled up but is rolled the wrong way which makes it a tad difficult to get to stay flat when in the cutter. I must admit however that so far I am more than happy with my TC631E cutter. I did visit a small t-shirt shop in Birmingham the other day and watched what they were doing. They used a OKI laser printer to print onto heat transfers, contour cut with a graphtec machine and then pressed on to shirts using 5 secs at 130 deg and no extra pressing. The result seemed fine and is making me wonder whether to try transfer paper and my epson inkjet on a few cheap cotton shirts. I often think that my search for quality results is not the same as my clients expectations and that they are probably more than happy with lesser quality if it looks good to begin with.

I am however still looking for an answer to the 'flock' question and is the 'flock' the americans use for making rhinestone templates a different material to what we can get as 'flock' in the UK.

I wonder if anyone can answer that question or do I have to buy a sample of flock to see?

thats the stuff i thought i was buying TBH......will see if new stuff is the same as your desription.. be here tomorrow .

as for the flock.. i bought samples to see what the differance was.....
sticky flock ( used from rhinestone templates ) is a slightly stiffer material than ordinary flock, from what i can see/feel...sticky flock is more like a very thin card stock(almost paper like) with a furry/velvet feel on one side and a "sticky" back on the other.
ordinary flock has a clear carrier on back and feels furry/velvet on one side, and vinyl like on the other side..more kinda plasticy feel to the vinyl side if anything

hope that makes sense bud

Hmmm....dunno what the hell i,m doing wrong here....
Using sign vinyl....put it into cameo shiny side up - cut out lettering - weed it -then apply transfer tape to lift it off the backing...thats fine.....but when i go to put it onto anything, and rub on the transfer paper to apply lettering to product, pull back slowly on transfer tape, the bloody lettering comes back off with the sticky transfer paper WTF

sign vinyl you dont mirror right ?......

so whats happening here guys ?

on the plus side - i managed to get the cut setting right so it cuts without mat....but the standard settings cameo and people on yotube give you, are way, way out for this blade ...
i have to take ALL setting way down from standard...strange

@bigj2552 Ok so this is what I have found cut letter non-mirrored if sticking to something that you will be facing and cut mirrored if sticking say inside a car window that you will looking at through the glass. Leave on the backing paper and apply the transfer paper on top and press down well. Now when you come to apply it peel the backing paper off (which should leave lettering on the transfer paper) and press where you want it to go. Then press this down hard with a squeegy and then slowly peel the transfer paper off and the letter should stay stuck down. It is however important I have found to clean thoroughly the area you are applying it to with say an alcohol wipe (definately not anything greasy like some white spirit / turps). Doing it this way mine has always stuck to the item and come off the transfer paper.

Also was there not some thread saying the new cameo settings were way different than the older settings? Perhaps thats the issue?

cheers worth....yeh cameo changed all the settings, which is a pain if you just bought one cause it means you have to figure it all out for yourself ....not hard, just time consuming

the above is what i have been doing bud ...but it keeps coming back up with the bloody transfer paper :confused:

off to try again....and give good clean before sticking down.
The little bugger wont beat me lol...no chance

Well I wonder what are you sticking it to? Either that or your sign vinyl has very low tack adhesive on it lol

I was going to say you havent by any chance mistaken your t-shirt vinyl for your sign vinyl but thought better of it

Hope it goes well - will keep fingers crossed

LOL...i,m old but not that old ....
WORKED GREAT bud......2 points tho-

1. i wasnt rubbing anywhere near hard enough
2. i hadnt cleaned it before i applyed transfer.

i thought i was rubbing hard enough...didnt want to rub to hard incase i rubbed the transfer off....i got big hands and often tend to forget my own strenth(so i,m told  )...so i though i better go kinda easy on this.
Seems that was the WRONG approach
you need to rub like hell.......
Great...thanks, another hill climbed .

off to work on this new hot flex stuff now....same as last stuff, as in, no carrier, but this one is a hell of a lot easier to tell the glossy side from the dull side

Daft question but when your cutting out the flex are you selecting 'Cut Outline' or 'Cut'
I ask this as in Silhouette Studio you have a choice. So if you select the outline it wont cut the cnetral part of your design/letters you have to select 'cut'
Ive added an image just in case.. Just a shot in the dark from a newbie :)

lol...selecting cut bud......figured that one out lol......cameo have changed all the dam blade settings i presume with the new batch of blades.... so one has to manually figure out what the hell the cut settings are by trial n error, ok you can start with there recommended settings in the studio software, but i have found them to be way, way off....for my blade anyway.
Everybody may be differant with there cameo, i dont really know - i,m just posting my own findings as they happen
