If you're not familiar, or don't have, a suitable version of PhotoShop or other ICC-aware software, you might want to try the demo of Qimage: http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage/qimage.html

I use it for printing. It's not a graphics manipulation programme as such (although you can do non-permanent tweaks), it's more of a layout & print software which allows you to easily select your installed ICC profiles. When you save jobs, it saves all settings, too. Try out the demo version for free before you decide if you want to pay for it.

Hi JSR,

Could I use that software (qimage) with a DTP program that doesn't have profiling in the printer control to have the same effect?

And thanks for the links in you signature I have just read up on them both, a real help for someone that really has no knowledge to begin with!

It would depend how you export/save your DTP work. I tend I use all manner of software to create/modify my designs/photos, and then save them out as JPG (or another common format) which I then layout/print via Qimage.

Qimage won't directly print a .ppp file (like Serif PagePlus), but you should be able to export your work as .jpg or similar which Qimage will print.

Just to let people know (that have any interest in the tread) Paul has supplied the custom profile and it works a treat. The really great thing is that it works with my DPT so little learning curve at the moment for the other software:cool:.

The thing that strikes me is that these custom profiles open up the range of printers that can be used so in theory means that the likes of the Brother range, and the cheaper or more diverse range of Epson can be included in what is available to be used. When I went out and brought my epson I did so because of the six colour inks for what I thought would be a better photo quality that could be created (what did I know !).

Still thanks Paul for sorting me out on a mistake which has had a bonus attached as well

regards
