Heat Press Vinyl to Simulated Leather Wallet?
Re: Heat Press Vinyl to Simulated Leather Wallet?
Hi guys
Just wondering if it's possible to heat press any of the textile vinyls onto these?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 1054168068
As you can see, it's some sort of synthetic material.

Well PU standards for polyurethane - so assuming that is what they are made from. It would make sense that a PU Flex (of which there are many) should stick as the glue on the flex must be stuck to PU flex already so must be able to stick to a PU item.
Re: Heat Press Vinyl to Simulated Leather Wallet?
The flex we have is 123 Flex requiring just 3 secs of heat - it's this heat that concerns me.
Thanks for replying.

Well if PU flex can stand the heat then a PU wallet definately can! Most plastic items of this kind can and PU doesnt melt till close to 280C

Maybe you could try the vinyl for Nylon. You only need 140c for this.

Well I think the difference between 140C for 15 to 20 secs and 160 deg for 3 secs is likely to favour the 3 sec pressing as being less damaging.

yes i wonder if other companies do it in other colours, with wallets at 49p from some suppliers, it would make a nice line

Of course we can personalise your flex name with a cheap wallet if you require it lol I bet the damn flex probably costs more than the wallet at 49p (or close to it)mrs maggot;53103 wrote:yes i wonder if other companies do it in other colours, with wallets at 49p from some suppliers, it would make a nice line
