How does everybody else manage?

In my last business I was outdoors most of the day grafting, not heavy lifting but continuous activity. Now I am doing the website, designing, printing etc so the calories aren't being burned.

So every hour I stop and do 5 minutes of physical graft. I mentioned this to somebody and they looked at me as though I was nuts! Am I?

When I transferred from the market to a shop I gained 10lbs, I have since lost it over the past 18 months, In the shop there is less movement than the market where I ran around like and was on the go all the time. So now I make a point of something physical, like brushing the carpet with a dustpan and brush, eating less, next to some lovely eating places. Its just so easy to gain weight and become unfit so I also go on a running machine just to keep up some fitness level.

I walk my daughter to and from school each day. Its about a 25 minute walk each way.

That said, Craig will testify that visually it is not doing me any good whatsoever, and perhaps the three smokes probably do not help!!!!!!

When business slowed down during the recession, I made the decision to lose weight. Stopped being a lazy git in January last year. Started off just by walking (working my way up to 13 mile walks). Then complemented that with Wii Fit (the jogging on the spot malarky). Between March last year and March this year, I lost 5 stone.

Now we have a treadmill, and I do an hour on that every other day as I prepare myself for proper outdoor running (for when it gets warmer after winter).

Excellent. It can make such a difference when you get outdoors. Enjoy.

I thought I was doing well with my walking but when I tried to run, I felt like the most unfit guy in town!
