Re: Stock control order processing software

Post by leeoensuk »

Evening all,

i have been looking around on the internet for different software which will help with my order management /stock control.

There are a few out there on the internet which i have found, i was just wondering does any one have one that they use or any advice ?

i have looked at linnworks but it is so slow, does any one have any better low cost or free software etc that they know of ?

Many thanks in advance :)

i use sage accounts and stock control ordering etc all in one go, but it is expensive, i used a free accounts package before that adminsoft accounts - easy to download and use and it had basic stock control on it.

TBH the best stock control i have for my t's and hoodies, is a wipclean sheet with them listed on it, and a marker pen, i count em in and count em out, when i call a supplier i have the lists infront of me and know what i need

Many thanks for your reply mrs maggot, i did not know that sage allows you to do all the orders etc i thought it was all to do with the accounts etc. I am new to all this would sage also take care of the customer management etc?

sage does a lot, but mostly it prepares my accounts in an easy way for my accountant to do my books, he could not get on with adminsoft as he is a sage man through and through, download adminsoft, or have a red, im sure you will find it does a lot of what you might need for free

after wasting a heap of time with stock software, I now walk around and look at levels, each product/size/colour has a separate shelf area, and at a glance I can tell what I have and what i might need to order. If you don't keep software perfectly up to date it can trip you up, and i found that i me and my team were not anal enough to manage the software, we seemed to spend a lot of time with the program, and it didn't offer any return. imho

yep me too logo, like i said i made up some sheets, laminated them and simply cross an item off when i take it and use it, then when new stock comes in i wipe the number off and start again - i use a marker pens which are on long bits of string so i dont keep loosing them around the place - works for me then stock on sage has been set to 999999 items of everything and off i go
