Look at litho, you can now go to somewhere like Vistaprint and get 500 cards printed for less than a tenner.
Tell me about it - sold a rotaprint a few years back for basically scrap - bottom has dropped out of the market and peeps are just about working for free.

Back to the original thread - I don't think Dave is running a business, I think this print order is on top of his normal job, so doubt he could farm it out without paying a large chunk of cash upfront, or even employ people. Basically, if I was in Dave's shoes, i'd work out the timings/costs and base a quote on that, then have a punt at this order. Only you know what you'd be happy to work for, and this price will be completely different to everyone else's price, especially the ones with overheads.

Cheers all, I am still here and reading with great interest , as I said earlier it only came up in conversation with a local shop who if he took the job on was looking to source it out to some mug (me) lol. I will wait to see if anything comes of it before deciding on weather to or not, thanks all for inputs.

this is just what i would do personally , if screen print is not a option , get in touch with j and a international send them the design he wants on with the sizes and tell them the quantity's , they will gve you a quote for transfers , then the rest is very very easy and the quality is great.

just what i would do

if its a local shop will they be needing all 20k in one hit ?? if not i would be taking my time now to source samples of them printed up in other ways and give him some prices, after all if he has already priced the job up at far eastern supply only and supply and print, he might have some prices in mind already, but then the ball is in your court to say to them, initial order of 2k with 2k per month after that. but i would be subbing it out and making a small margin on that.
