Hi guys. A bit embarrassing in a way to make a thread like this but I thought, after reading quite a few threads regarding members giving stuff away, that this might be an ideal opportunity for me to grab some goodies that no-one no longer wants or needs. (I sound like a bit of a Rag & Bone man!). Anyway, if anyone has anything that they want to get rid of free of charge, I will gladly take it off your hands. Obviously only working equipment and such. I am willing to pay postage and packaging for the goods before they are sent. Basically I am looking for anything to do with sublimation as I have yet to get into this side printing, this including, machinery, printers, inks, papers etc etc... anything really.
Also anything not involved with subbing I would appreciate.
As they say... "if you dont ask,..you dont get!"
Ian.

Yeah, I know. Not that I dont intend to be (premium member). Just finding my feet in this world of print. Trying to to get started as cheaply as possible like everyone else. If I may have offended anyone or the forum, I apologise and remove the thread.
Blushing... Ian.

Arko, I feel your 'pain'...but I doubt any of us start out that cheaply.....start out slowly..that's what I'm doing...buy when and if you can!!! Start with only mugs maybe and then work up to other stuff. Then again, someone may just feel generous...you never know!!!

this the WORST you can do!
Ask for free stuff to start as cheap as possible!
you wont go to far with cheapest set that came from all diferent sources...

dear... folks are complaining that some people start on cheap so they can afford to undercut prices. What about ppl that start on free gear :)

no offense but I would not mind give some stuff away for free. but i would only do that to already experienced member not for someone who is/ wish to start up.

do you print anything at the moment with any other method Ian?

ive spent around £800 starting up and am already thinking of changing some bits like changing a4 printers for a3 etc wouldnt have had the guts to ask for free stuff, i became a premium member as that helps for discounts etc free stuff would be nice for anyone especially with the amount of wasted transfers you have when u get a plotter cutter well i know thats been my problem... does become expensive so i was surprised to see anyone giving things away previously...

No harm in asking, after all it made me chortle. If anybody has any free stuff working or not, and you are prepared to pay for delivery, I'll have it (and could you chuck in five to cover my time and effort of being so nice). ........ Janners. And yes Arko it really did make me chortle, good call!

Agreed! no harm in asking. Like Ian said, . "if you don't ask,..you don't get!" Simple as. If i didn't ask in life and was sitting around waiting for things to come to me i wouldn't be doing what i am today, And im sure that is the case with many people.

All the best Ian :)

Wow!... opened up a can of worms here havent I?... Some positive remarks, some negative... only to be expected I supposse. I really honestly only made this thread due to a member 2 weeks ago giving away some equipment which was in working order. It was a sub printer and a few inks. I havent tried my hand at subbing because Im more into graphic designing and tshirts. I already have a cutter and clam press. I also have a million and one designs (free and paid subscriptions) that I alter accordingly with my graphics tablet. So, I realluy dont see the harm in asking. What would you all normally do with your stuff that you have just upgraded or grown tired of?... Be honest!... probably throw it out with the next recycling collection? This is my way of trying my hand at something with little or no start-up cost. Is that so wrong?. Id rather embarrass myself by asking rather than fork out hundreds only to find its not for me. Its not as if Im going to make anything out of it from the start is it?... You have all had a few years at least of learning curves. So, I may also be a tight a£%@... but my grandfather lived a life of luxury by being penny savvy.... never threw anything away that could be utilised elsewhere, nowt wrong with that in my book!
