Re: what colour gives you the most problems
ive had a few problems with my inks over the last few months and every time its been the cyan thats giving me hasstle. whilst messing about with an old cart assembly today i pulled a glup of cyan out the tube and this has me wondering is there an issue with cyan ink?
if you use a ciss system with artanium ink and when you have had any sort of problem with your ink or carts what colour have you had problems with ?
this could anything from bad nozzle checks causing the need for head cleans to complte failure resulting in new cart assemblies

just the two of us whos hadink problems ? blimy how unlucky is that
Re: what colour gives you the most problems
I had ink problems with both blacks using a B100 and CIS. Never had anly trouble with the colours. I failed to resolve the black problems.
I have now changed to a Ricoh 3110 and printing is like a dream.......!

Re: what colour gives you the most problems
Agree ricohs seem more reliable i have 7700 but print quality not as good as a 6 ink system im finding the ink usage on a ricoh is quite high too im half way down a magenta already and only put it in in december (the larger cartridge) i didnt really expect that tbh. It does have to be said though that the b1100 seems to have its own problems i had one of them too and it gave me constant hasstle mainly on cyans again,JHP;65983 wrote:I had ink problems with both blacks using a B100 and CIS. Hi Purple
is there really that much difference in the print quality between Epson and Ricoh that it is better to persevere with an Epson rather than a trouble free Ricoh?
Would be interested to see an image posted that was printed by both machines.

I have printed the same image with the ricoh and epson and could not see any difference whatsoever.

Re: what colour gives you the most problems
Personally i think there is a differnance although it has to be said its very slight blacks are definatly more finicky with the ricoh but nothing that cant be sorted as i cant use my epson at the moment i cant really post up comparison windows but i would say thats theres a definate increase in ink consumption on the ricoh compared to the epson like i said i bought the larger carts for the ricoh and put a new magenta in over xmas time this is now showing half empty which is a bit of a concern tbh . As for trouble free ricohs although i'll conceed problems are vastly reduced when using a ricoh i wouldnt say they are trouble free theres been a few posts with problematic ricohs recntly and i myself have had the odd problem with banding requireing head cleans admitadly very few problems and it is vergeing on nit picking but certainly not trouble free and then there is the issue where on certain ricohs people have had the mother board in the machine break due i think to the inks that are usedsocialgiraffe;65985 wrote:Hi Purple

JHP the point i was making was a 6 ink system in my opinion gives a better print than a 4 ink system (not just between ricohs and epson) i believe you mentioned earlier you had problems with your b1100 which is a 4 ink system (5 if you count the black twice)

Hi Purple
I take your point and I should have said a lot less hassle
With the carts, firstly lucky you... I am on my second set this week!! But in all seriousness how many pages do you think you have printed in that time. or have you done a cost comparison as it would be interesting to see.
If you delve into the mother board issue I read somewhere that this was actually a bad batch of units and that Ricoh had fixed the problem. Not sure if they got their machines replaced or not, but then when mine went up the wall in the early days (Cyan would not print!) they replaced it free of charge immediately.
