You should be able to as long as they are conceled within a parcel bag you should be ok, I've only used this service to send 3 or more mugs but looks like if prices are going up then will be using it more often.

James

Look at Parcels2go and Interparcel they offer Collect+ but also all the other services (City Link, DHL etc etc) so you can choose which one that is most suited (i.e. City Link and Co collect from your house).

I use parcels2go for all my larger items.. I have no vehicle so it saves trying to hike parcels the couple of miles into town..

Smaller parcels the other half takes for me to work as he bikes past the PO on his way home :)

Single mugs look to be in the Small Parcel Category (ie 10cm cubed) - what is the price for a 1st class small parcel?

Is normal mail going up (ie letter and large letter size?)

Teddys, backpacks, womens sub bags, cushions, keepsake boxes, soft toys are just a few things off the top of my head that will go in the new £5.20 band due to size. :frown:

That would make them almost impossible to sell, so fewer people would buy of the likes of bms, so bms will order more less, people who make them may then go bust.

I suppose its a clever way of the government to get people back to shopping in the high street.

Hi Viccar

Not sure about the Chinese factories going bust because of Royal Mail. These things are sold world wide by them and the UK is a relatively small part compared to the likes of the US. It may even push the prices down because they are not being sold in the numbers that they used to.

Bearing in mind that using the collect+ service the delivery will actually be £4.79 (including VAT)
Royal Mail is current £2.70 first class

So the difference is only £2.00 which although I do not deal with the public I don't consider it to be that much.

Plus, with the prices going up like this it would not surprise me if someone like City Link step in and offer something pretty decent. Overnight courier firms are gagging for business at the moment as the market is flooded. I had one call me the other day offering up to 30 kilos for £6.00 on a signed for next day. That is pretty good.

collect + is way too slow for ebay, needs to be there in a couple of days or you get trashed.
They mark you down for charging £2.20 even the push to £2.90 will take some over the edge on ebay. let alone £5.20.

Ill be sticking with smaller stuff that can go small parcel or below, on ebay at least.

Ill save the bigger stuff for stalls and fairs.

What about selling some sort of "bundle" ?

For example, keep sake box, compact mirror and something else etc.

Postage will be in the higher bracket but then they are spending more money and a lot of people think the higher the value the higher the postage.
