Ok, i have Ricoh gx e3300n set up and i have photoshop elements 10 and photoshop cs6 ... hubby set it up to use with elements 10 but the templates i have downloaded keep opening cs6 ( as they were obvs made with that).

Which would you recomend to use , and can it be changed to use with the other one ..

sorry im just starting out and confusing myself let alone anyone else :/

They can be used in both. They will open in first software that was instaled on your pc. If you click right mouse button on the file and choice "open with" then you can choice software you want to open psd file with.

Right I have opened it in the one i want to use ... template is there .. Do i have to add layers to add a photo then add some text. I really do need an idiots guide to this

Yes. It would be best if you do all on layers as if any problems then you can correct only one layer instead of redoing all again. But for idiot guide i would suggest youtube ;) plenty of descent videos there ;)
