New product design software - Demo Video
Re: New product design software - Demo Video
This looked great but its made in flash, no good for me, you can see its held in a .html windows in the video.
This is no good for the modern devices, even android are dropping flash.
This is why when developing mine this was the no.1 condition
Also this preview is running on a localserver, wonder how it will cope when in the real world.

Re: New product design software - Demo Video
Hi everyone. Had some response to your questions from the developer so I'll copy and paste more info:
Is it Flash?
Yes it is built on Flash Platform but 3D is hardware accelerated thus performance is very high. For more technical minded it is built using Adobe Air.
Will it run on mobile device browser?
No it will not run on mobile device browser however we are converting this into a mobile native app with ecommerce integration.
What is the road map for mobile browser and why do we have to look for a solution which is not mobile compatible?
At this moment HTML5 is not mature enough to create a version which is as good as this. We are currently building a mobile compatible version in HTML5 but it won’t be as powerful as our current browser version. We do not want to create an inferior product for computer browser just for the compatibility sake with mobile. Our road map is to create a separate versions for web and mobile however both of them would be driven by single backend. It did not make sense to not provide end user a tool as powerful as this just because mobile browser couldn’t handle it. Mobile version is at architecture stage at this moment and will be in development stage after the release of current web version.
Will it be hosted or self hosted?
We will be providing various solutions for different customer base. The solution will be self-hosted, SaaS based or bespoke based on the end user requirement. We are also planning to release a complete solution with integrated ecommerce based on openCart and magento. However we also provide easy to customise API for users who want this to be integrated with their own bespoke ecommerce systems as well.
How do you set up templates for products?
Product templates can be in two formats- PNG or SWF. We have a backend tool to setup this. You will get to see this in our demo soon.
Can you add your own products or is it limited to pre-added?
Yes. Format will be 3DS or .OBJ
When you click on "Add to Cart" what does it do?
It sends order information to the ecommerce system that an order has been created for current user and the artwork for the current order has been saved at X location. API’s will be provided for same
How is image generated?
We generate image on the server side in max resolution provided by the user. We also alert user if image is print worthy or not.
If you wanted to use it as a proof to send to a customer via email would it be done by a link to click on? We send flat proofs currently and was asked yesterday if we can show how the mug looks. I do have a person working for me who does 3d rendering but it is a fair bit of work for each design. The ability to throw on an image and send to a customer is what I need.
Based on the ecommerce system an automated order mail will go to user with a link to the output image
The 3d is nice, but will it also do flat Tshirts etc, be nice to find a single solution
It won’t do flat tshirt but 3d
Hope these comments explain in more detail.

Starting to look like a complete solution by the sound of it. How long are we looking before launch?

Re: New product design software - Demo Video
Should well be a total solution yes but part of the reason for me starting the discussion here was to see what could be done to improve the current and/or future releases....although every idea I've come up with thus far is already in development!Andrew;75185 wrote:Starting to look like a complete solution by the sound of it. Re: New product design software - Demo Video
Don't see any issue with that at all and you'd be able to change the shirt colour in the same way as you change products mid design. I'll get a definitive answer on this to see exactly how it would work.socialgiraffe;75187 wrote:Will you be able to change the colour of the item?

Re: New product design software - Demo Video
Can you have multiple printable areas on 1 item, which could be used individually or together?
For example a T-shirt with a left breast logo area, and a full back print which the user could use both areas, or either one individually without having to select a seperate product for each (so 1 t-shirt for front, one for back and one which had both)

Re: New product design software - Demo Video
Think I see what you're asking here
and shouldn't present a problem. If you look at the top right of the demo screen you'll see a layers section.
Re: New product design software - Demo Video
This is more 2 physical areas of the t-shirt, one front and one back.
The user might want to decorate only the front, or only the back - but some might want to decorate both on the same shirt.
