Think i may of chosen the wrong printer !! Advice please

i BOUGHT MY SET UP A WHILE BACK AND NOT REALLY USED IT MUCH. ITS THE RICOH GXE3300N. I ORIGINALLY BOUGHT IT THINKING I COULD PRINT OF THE TRANSFER AND PUT IN ONTO
ANY COTTON GARMENTS .. SUCH AS BIBS BABY GROWS ETC AS MY MAIN BUSINESS IS BABY ITEMS. i FOUND OUT THAT I CAN ONLY PUT THE TRANSFERS ONTO SUBLIMATION T SHIRTS , BIBS ETC WHICH ARE ONLY WHITE GARMENTS. IS THERE ANY PRINTER ON THE MARKET THAT I CAN BUY WHERE I WILL BE ABLE TO PRINT THE TRANSFER THEN ADD IT TO 100% COTTON ITEMS.

Chromablast or oki white

Surely any inkjet printer will do. Just buy a nice photo one and goto YOLO who do lots of inkjet transfer papers for lights and darks..

Thanks Paul , I was looking on bms and it didn't show that chrimoblast was available for my printer. Done a google search and found it elsewhere. Which I had looked into this properly before a bought my vinyl plotter now but hey ho. What is oki?

Personally I would purchase a separate machine as it will work out cheaper in the long run. For cotton garments I would look at laser transfers such as TMT, YOLO etc. There is an excellent thread on here started by Dave271069 about the various types of laser transfer papers on here.

The cheapest laser printer that will do the job is an OKI301 (about £100) which does print TMT papers but not others. For an extra £50.00 the 501 will print papers from other companies. If you are new to all this I would consider purchasing the laser printer from TMT, more expensive yes but you have the back up that I think you may require and their customer service is superb.

Laser papers allow you to print on light garments and if you get the specialist paper it also allows you to print on dark garments with a no weed two part paper (again see Dave's posts).

and then what ink would i need to buy for the OKI printer?

Tonor - thats what Oki's use. Just use the tonor that comes in it with a laser transfer paper.

You can either purchase genuine OKI toner or on ebay there are thousands of sellers who sell third party toner that works just as well.
