Re: Stevo
Hello everyone from sunny Leeds, I've been reading this forum for weeks and it seems to be a very friendly place with lots of advice for people. I hope to be getting all the gear in January to start doing mugs (I have nearly 50 designs already LOL) Lets just hope the economy picks up more, to sell them
Thanks Stevo
Thanks Stevo
Re: Stevo
Hi Stevo, and welcome to the forum.
When I started (still haven't officially opened but getting enough work from word of mouth) I went my own way and tried doing everything on the cheap - I soon learned to take advice from here as its a lot less hassle in the long run.
I originally started doing just Vinyl, signs and decals as hopefully we will soon come out of recession and the demand will be there with new business starting and needing signage.. but soon expanded into Sublimation and Clothing - personally I love every aspect of the whole thing, including the people here who are not only friendly but willing to share their experience with people like you and I.
I wish you the best of luck with your new venture.

Re: Stevo
Thanks NikGrey, I hope you do well with your business too, I'm just doing mugs myself, I've seen people online charge £10 for just one mug, then asking another £2,70p for P & P LOL. Someone's making a few bob
Re: Stevo
Hi Stevo, I will be charging £9.95 plus postage - I'm not doing this for free, I am already busy as people know me for quality (and I have a massive selection of seconds if you want to buy slightly wonky personalised mugs?).
I would rather have a steady flow of business and make a few quid than be silly busy and making next to nothing. I am populating my shop with Mugs to get traffic - that will hopefully get them interested in other items and repeat business.
IF you set your stall out too cheap, when you realise your not making money and have to increase prices people will move on - I think it's best to work out the profit you are happy with, set your prices and stick to them. I know for sure people will see my prices and go to ebay and not be happy with the product (Generalising here, and don't want to upset anyone but we all know there are some cheap outfits trying to undercut us).
From the customers point of view I would rather pay a bit more for something of good quality, rather that than pay twice as I have done with the original equipment I had to start with for this business.
I don't think £12 is a lot to pay for a good quality mug, personalised to my exact specifications.
