Recently had to acquire an Ricoh after numerous disasters with Epson.Seem to be having problems with printed items being darker than original photo.Attached pictures of pre-printed photo ( original) and printed mug.I'm using Powerdriver in Corel Draw 12. Double checked settings according to Sawgrass site, but can't spot anything wrong

I had a similar problem. It might be that you have the wrong paper type in your printer settings. Mine was set as Plain paper and I changed it to Inkjet paper. This gaves me a much better and lighter print.

It's set to Tru Pix Classic, I actually use BMS SubliClassic. Oddly enough there isn't a setting for plain paper

Have you reduced the temp by 10 degrees and time by 10 as well?

Ricohs lay a bit more ink than others so you need to compensate

I'm on 170 with 140 seconds time. Have to admit it does look darker on paper even before going to print, although of course thats not always a guide in sublimation as we know.

Have you tried using ICC profiles in Corel with it doing colour management, and then printing straight to the Ricoh driver, and not using PowerDriver?

I had wondered about that. I find it a bit odd that Sawgrass give you the option and instructions for Corel Draw to use with Powerdriver or Win Profile. You would think they would advise on the best option, or maybe they do and I haven't found it

PowerDriver is great for people who don't have proper colour managed graphics software, but you do, so have the option to do it both ways.

Cheers for that. Much better with the profile, still not 100% happy but it's getting there now :)

Your next improvement would be to get Paul to make you a custom ICC profile.
Also, have you got a calibrated screen?
