Smash Proof Boxes, Really???
Re: Smash Proof Boxes, Really???
I use BMS Brown boxes with bubble wrap or shredded paper, very very few breakages. I have been wondering about smash proof boxes to save time. But then what would I do with all my scrap paper?

Re: Smash Proof Boxes, Really???
hey sorry for long reply mate i am just finishing up now.. here is the site i used, customer service is great aswell. i know i was only buying mailing boxes but they in my opionion was greatarthur.daley;80286 wrote:Hi DaG
the coralgraph single boxes are spot on price wise but they aren't the highest quality - the white outer isn't really white its a bit grey but thats ok, I just wish they were 3 or 4mm bigger(
The integrity of the box isn't very important to me as I don't try to use them as postal boxes they are literally just something to take the mug home in (most of my stuff is collected from me) and to make wrapping the mug up easier, so its not too important if the mug rattles around a little bit in the box.
Be interested to know where your boxes were from DaG and see if I can get a couple of samples from them to try out

for single sided boxes and what you are looking for i think they may suit you pal

Re: Smash Proof Boxes, Really???
thanks social i will prob end up going down that route as what Arthur mentioned earlier, it seems to be much easier as i do send out alot of singles, but i do also send out 12-15 every few days so i dont want to be sending all them in polystyrene boxes i think a combo of the 2 should be good but id have to get bubble wrap
Paul i dont dunk i allow to cool natural and then package. i dont package while warm as i have the space i can leave packaging till the end of the day so they all do be really cool
justin i got these boxes from subli blanks i cant see them being different from anywhere else? but i could be wrong
the mug was a 11oz red colour changing mug
i do put cardboard dividers in boxes normally aswell i guess that would have helped that mug, as i have had no one get back to me yet about other breakages but they have not left feedback yet so fingers crossed
Thanks renniwano i think your right trust no one with any of my stuff either
fragile tape, bubble wrap, polystyrene boxes and singled walled boxes are back on the shopping list grrr..
i was hoping these smashproof boxes would eliminate all the hassle of wrapping and using tape its so time consuming it is unreal
sorry for sections i have no idea how to master them quotes yet

Re: Smash Proof Boxes, Really???
jmugs, you could still put your scrap paper in the smashproof mug boxes. recycling
let your customer decide what to do with it then, just dont stuff to much in one box they may cop on to what you are doing

This is where I get mine. They'll guarantee but only on their own mugs.

Re: Smash Proof Boxes, Really???
yes that is where i got mine from justin
i get my mugs else where tho, but i do get my smug mugs from subliblanks
it just shocked me earlier to get a smashed mug, it seemed to be the only one and as i have 20 boxes left 1 out of 80 cant be too bad can it?
with the boxes i got before the smashproofboxes i got 23 out of 100 that arrived broke last month, so now that ive calmed down and had a cup of tea it seems good in comparison
so now my boxes are short i am thinking if i move on with smashproof and just add bubble wrap to make them that little bit safer (Renniwano - NO FRAGILE TAPE
thanks)
or move on to the boxes Arthur and social recommend, its tough because i do like the mugs arriving and look the part rather than in a polystyrene box but as longs as it gets there in one piece no one really cares if it comes in newspaper wrapping do they? ha ha

Unfortunately you are right in what you say here, and it bugs me even more that the postmen seem to be proud of this statement. Makes me mad and sad at the same time that a) they almost brag about it and b) what has it come to when we can not trust people to simply do their job with due care and attention.the words of my neighbour postie were - it's like asking for trouble
Moan over, you can now go back on topic
And by the way, 1 out of 80 smashed... I did not get 1 in over 1000 with polystyrene

Re: Smash Proof Boxes, Really???
I totally agree.. it's the same at our local post office.. the women sit in their wheelie chairs but instead of moving to put the post in their delivery bags.. most of it they throw !!! I have moaned at them on numerous occasions and commented that maybe I should throw the cash around in the same manner !!

Re: Smash Proof Boxes, Really???
Hi D&G Sorry to hear about your bad experience:frown:. I can only go on my experience of selling these Smash proof boxes for over 5 years now (I supply Subli.co.uk and also sell them myself) and what my customer feedback has been. We have sold over 200,000 of these boxes and when I was guaranteeing them when selling with our mugs, I only paid out once in 3 years. We sold to some of the big players and plenty of smaller customers who bought 1000's over the years - one of our big customers reckoned the breakage rate was less than 1 in 1000, so I think you were just unlucky and of course it could always be a dodgy mug to blame as much as the box. The big customer who ordered 10,000 at a time never used to add bubble wrap either. You must remember to make sure the mug is standing up in these boxes (as if it has coffee in as well) don't lay the mug down then you shouldn't need bubble wrap, saving time when packing - the advantage over polystyrene packaging is the space saving storage of them and that they double up as a gift box for your customer to give the mug in rather than just as a postage box (which is why we had them made in white). But it is horses for courses as usual, that great thing is to have choice!
