Hello everyone

Just wondered if anyone had tried sublimating onto Polyester webbing, and what results you got from it?

Also I notice that webbing normally comes in either polyester and polypropylene - does polypropylene take sublimation print well?

Well I got a metre of polypropylene just to test it, and it doesn't take sublimation at all (and I was afraid it might melt in the press). I guess I'll just try the polyester webbing when I can get some and see what happens.

What kind of webbing is it?... Fishnet size?... deniere size (womens tights... coorrrr! hahaha)?... Im not sure about webbing and its properties but I would have tried maybe transfer (Print and contour cut to get rid of most of the backing?)... hmmmm. Although the heat maybe a problem (can probably be sorted with some good Teflon sheeting), the real problem I think lays with the hole size. Multi-colour, single colour, layered vinyl etc etc... Can you maybe post a pic of what you are trying to achieve?

I was looking into making belts with customised designs. I'm not really sure it's possible to achieve, but just researching it.

I know this is an old thread, but polyester webbing is very much printable, although it shrinks quite a lot, so you need to preheat it for a good 20 seconds. But it gives great results, an example:

I only printed one side, but obviously both could be done if you wanted :)
Using Ricoh SG3110DN printer, Sublijet-R inks, and rubbish cheap heat press from Coralgraph!

what temp and time would you recommend, im getting reasonable prints on the belts with 350f and 140 seconds but is there a better temp and time, also paul how did you print the whole belt with no white bg without it leaving gaps?
