Re: RIcoh Error Message - help if possible please

Post by adamsbbbk »

Hi

Got a Ricoh GX E3300N printer - when i turn it on an error message comes up:

"err 986 power on/off"
"call service if error reoccurs"

it has been turned on and off on multiple occasions and still the same error message.

anyone know what this error message refers to as the manual just states to call service centre.

is this something i can fix?

any help/advice appreciated.

thanks

No worries, if you get to fix your error, it might be an idea to post how you did it on this thread, if anyone else has the same problem there will be a reference point with an answer  Good luck....

well just an update.
couldn't figure out what the problem was by researching on t'internet.

i was on a windows 8 laptop and had downloaded the windows 8 drivers.

so decided i would try it on a pc with windows xp and connected fine first time.

so could be something to do with incompatability with the windows i was running but that is not a definitive diagnosis - just my experience.

but then when i go to print 2 inks have completely run out so couldn't
proceed with a test print.

so going to order new set of inks and try - fingers crossed no more issues.
