Re: sublimation slates
baking paper would be more for protecting the plates on your heat press from any ink getting on them, which in turn may transfer to other items which you don't want!
Re: sublimation slates
I followed Pauls video word for word and have not had a single fail, only issue i have had is slight matt look in places but will remove with acetine free polish remover (not tried yet)
Made 6 so far only one had paper stick to it.
Not sure if there is anything in this but all of the ones that didn't have paper sticking i had heated the press from cold, the one that stuck i made straight after another one. I have more to make so will check on this
Big thanks to Paul for the great video demo I was nervous about doing the slates but following his guide made me feel more confident
My customers are really happy with them 2 of them customers already have repeat orders in for several more

Re: sublimation slates
if you getting blurred patches, they can be removed. but to avoid them please lower the temp a little. i would say 195C.

The blurr isn't bad but i want perfect
I will try 195 to see how it goes
Cheers

Re: sublimation slates
Paper sticking test
1st slate press heated from cold to 195 pressed no paper stick
2nd slate press already heated paper stuck
I have only had paper stick when making slates one after the other, the 1st slate always no stick but others do
Interested to see if this is the same for others
