They also informed me at the bank they would actually be able to trace the account the funds were paid in to which might be nice, i hope they get this very clever person

Well if they are experienced at this kind of scam then they will have used a vpn and created a fake paypal account with a top up bank card, then its a case of what the money was used for once it was in that paypal account. Could be quite hard or time consuming to trace and prove who did it.

I think we have all learned a lesson on the forum about this little scam,she was clever,played part in the forum to make you think it was ok when you searched her profile.

Rule 1- NEVER pay with pay-pal gift as paypal can do nothing about it or trace it.
Rule 2- If you are scammed,contact your credit card company or bank (protection under the sale of goods act ) they have to investigate and refund you within 10 days

I hope she only got 4 of us and there are no others that have not come forward on here that have been scammed

Can i add that after starting this threat over 4 weeks ago I have had a refund by going through my bank as i paid with paypal on my debit card

That's great news, I've not heard from anyone else that was affected but this, has anyone else had a refund?

Spoke to my bank today they have asked for a bit more info but said they will send me a refund once they have that info. Wil be using part of it to pay for premium membership once it comes through
