Cheers Justin, thought it should, but it's a pretty new printer and first time any ink has been low so wasn't sure...thought it odd as it just stopped on the low ink warning..will have to try it again shortly see if I can get it fired up...thanks again

Re: Ricoh SG3110...Low ink stop printing?
I am still on my first set of inks for this printer and I did wonder about this.. well, I wanted to know if the printer would empty a pipe so I would have to fill the pipe again when I get new carts (I was worried about getting rid of the air an empty pipe would cause)!
These carts have the ink in a bag so you keep going until you can't print any more as once the bag has created a vacuum (it is completely empty at that stage) the printer will stop, a red flashing light will flash and a Klaxon will sound to let you know something needs your attention (sounds a bit like an Air Raid Siren).
.. Joking about any flashing lights and loud warning sounds but that's what will happen - so just keep going whilst you can.
I recommend you getting a replacement cart though, it would be embarrassing telling a customer their order will be late due to you running out of ink

there is a good video here which I'm pretty sure has been on the forum before, but it will show you how to get a much more accurate ink level reading in percent, from your Ricoh, as I'm pretty sure the front panel display is not the most accurate.
EDIT: skip to about 4:24, for the relevant info.

How weird,
Ive just changed mine this morning, it just came up a red light above the blue light and wouldnt print, then had an arrow on the display to say which ink to replace.
I just changed them and did a test print and all was fine.
The ones i took out had a use by date of 12/2013 and 1/2014 worked perfectly although a few months out of date.

Re: Ricoh SG3110...Low ink stop printing?
Is it possible the inks don't deteriate when in the printer once the vaccuum is working? Just throwing something out there thaty may give a reason why you can't install carts a month past the date but inks thayt have been in situ several months past this same date are ok???
