Epson 1500 Query
Re: Epson 1500 Query
Hi all.
Having a play with an Epson 1500 as we have got one spare but have a question for anyone who might have had this problem. After having it running for just over a day we have hit the limit for the waste pad. The cis we are using keeps having to reset after every 10 sheets or due to cartridges not recognised. I am guessing the little purge it does after this has set the waste pad full scenario off a lot earlier than needed. Basically, the printer now won't let us print until we get a reset code etc. It looks like these are paid for only codes which we don't want to do every day.
Now the strange thing is that we have also got a second 1500 and installed a totally different cis but the same thing is happening with the cartridges having to be reset. Everyone can't be having this problem?
I only got these printers as emergency back-up as we have had so many problems with our bigger printers lately but not as straight forward as I hoped. Haven't used the smaller printers for some years now and the last one we ran with was the 1800's. Can't remember issue's like this though.

Re: Epson 1500 Query
I have a CIS on my 1500, and am running it daily, but am not having any of those problems, touch wood he says as he touches his head!
Must admit have looked for a reset disc on flebay, so I have it ready just in case, but cannot find any there, at present!

Don't know if this will help as it doesn't specifically refer to the 1500w, but may be worth a shot....

Re: Epson 1500 Query
I run a R1800 & 1500W along with 2 RICOH's but would never use a cis because Epson's even with pigment ink in always seem to clog and block and I don't trust the way the carts reset, which is why I only use self resetting carts from suppliers I trust and have never had a problem.
something I have noticed with the 1500W compaired to the R1800 is it seems to go to sleep after a couple of hours and does a quick ink flush when woken up so that may be why the waste tank is filling quicker.
A reason why you can't find a reset disc anywhere for the newer Epson's is because the codes are being supplied to the online companies by ex Epson engineers.

Re: Epson 1500 Query
The 1500w default is to sleep after 4 hours, you can turn this off or adjust the time in printer maintenance by clicking on "Printer and option information".

Re: Epson 1500 Query
I know that's why I turned it off when it first did it! but thanks for the reply.
Re: Epson 1500 Query
may be this might help as it comes with the reset key and might help stop it filling the waste tanks

Re: Epson 1500 Query
You don't need the waste tank which is only a take away plastic box! you only need the reset waste tank code! But you can only get it as a package from the ebay supplier as I have never had a Epson printer leak ink out from the printer because it's Epson's way of making people pay for an engineer to come and reset your printer's waste tank counter.Angloman;86346 wrote:may be this might help as it comes with the reset key and might help stop it filling the waste tanks

just do a search for the waste tank reset code which will cost you about £10
