Hey guys,

What are the signs that you needed to replace your mug press blanket?.

I am starting to get some iffy printing, I have two areas that are smudged after pressing. Top middle and far left.
It looks like i've accidentally got water on your paper then pressed the mug. (I didn't).

I'm lucky my blanket has lasted this long and never had the need to replace it.

What are general signs a blanket has had its day?

a large flame emitting from the top of my mug press blanket gave me a slight hint that it was time to replace it

I've got my presses on power outlets with circuit breakers AND a safety switch.

Hi Benn

You can normally tell when your mug heater band needs replacing when you start to get fading on the bottom corners and along the edges of your design when previously you didn't. Another sign is when the band starts becoming quite brown and lifts away from the foam/rubber backing of the band. A bit of smoking is normal on a brand new heater band, but if you are getting smoking on an old heater band then that would also be a good time to replace it.

Best regards
