HI.. I'm looking to find out information about printing, best practise and utilise it to help me forward my undertaking which is... I'm looking to engage many service users from substance misuse and get them involved in printing their own tshirt etc. This will help to motivate them and feel like they're being apart of something.. Inclusive. I do this on a voluntary basis and love what i do. Look forward to receiving info from people...

Hi there.. We haven't got any equipment as yet but we're interested in having perhaps a silk screen printer and a heat sink printer.
The silk screen so that we can produce many of simple 1-2 colour prints and the heat as to produce quick/small amounts of personilised prints. Got about £1500 ish.
I've looked online and it's a mine field as i'm not sure what i'm doing..
Any advice would be appreciated Image
Would also like to have a look at the gear before it's bought to get an idea of size/how it works . The heat sink should be portable as we'd like to take it to recovery events Image
Like i said, any advice would be great Image

Hi there are plenty of options within your budget. I would say instead of screen printing maybe getting a vinyl cutter they are perfect for one or two color prints and sizes vary greatly so you would easily find one that suits your need of portability like craft robo. Screen printing is great but not if space or time are an issue and not great for doing personalized items due to set up time of the screens.

Thanks.. looked at various ( up tp £350) cutters but silhouette cameo looks good but i had to visit amazon or ebay to buy.. i looked at heatpress.uk... they are actually in southampton and had what we need for £1499... Any idea if they are reputable? :) the parts looked , the part lol Image

It's just a lot of money and would like to give us the best chance of success ... I really appreciate your input and through your posts have actually looked at relevant websites .. so thanks so far Image

What a great reason for getting into printing - I admire you :)

Online research is great but I would suggest getting yourself to a print trade show. That way you can see the equipment first hand and talk to suppliers about set-up, ease-of-use, running costs, consumables etc.

They are usually free or cheap to attend.

Cheers,
John.
