Re: Anyone have a colour test chart?

Post by Cfphoto »

Hi,

All of my equipment arrived and I spent yesterday trying to get it calibrated. Now, I know I cannot get the colours exactly as I see it, but I would like to try and get the colours as close as I can. First, they were looking quite saturated when printing onto mugs. After playing around a bit, I have it looking a little closer to what I see on screen. Does anyone have, or know where i can get a colour chart to print and sublimate? Also, my black and white images are not quite black and white. Almost a sepia look to them. Could this be over cooking? I have it at 200 for 180 seconds. Also, my images aren't quite as sharp as I see on screen. Is this normal? I have thought it could be due to my printer not being on a very steady surface. Possible movement causing a slight blur?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! :)

Hi there, i think you have so much to read yet...
please search forum for icc profile.
I presume you have all your gear from sublimation supplier? If so there should be disc with your printer that contain all color management files.

icc or powerdriver.

Hi,

The only disc I have is the original Ricoh disc which It says in set up instructions given by the supplier(Listawood) not to use if it is in the box. I followed the setup instructions on the sheet given, downloaded what I need including powerdriver.

Do I need an icc profile if using powerdriver? I read that I didn't need it.

No, essentially, Power Driver is selecting the appropriate ICC profile for you. If you have power driver installed, and you print to it, rather than selecting the Ricoh printer driver, then your colour should be correct.
Although what is correct is very dependant on how good your monitor is, how accurately it is displaying colours - which is unlikely unless you have calibration kit/software to do this,
