Got ya :-) Mines been on for 2 days and hasn't done the 'periodic' check yet as far as i can see. Usual 2 colours needed a clean.

Can the printer still do the periodic checks when it's in energy save mode? I've not seen anything happen yet.

7890 should not have auto nozzle check/clean switched on. As one of the inks channels has a cleaning cart installed the nozzle check will recognise this as an issue and attempt to clean until cleared. In theory it would keep cleaning until all ink is exhausted! Well, that's that one answered then :-)

surprised you need to do frequent nozzle checks, I had mine about 8 years, left on all the time, used most days some of the year, weekly at other times, probablt only had to do nozzle checks less than 1 time a year!
