Some interesting reading here! I guess this is what BMS referred to in their recent newsletter.

And another link with a picture...looks just like a rebadged SG3110DN. Be interesting if they have changed the inners of the printer though.

And some videos from Conde, which I haven't watched yet!

Interesting, but I would be more impressed if Sawgrass had released a new ink with longer shelf life, for us relatively small volume users this is an issue

Just watching the Conde video, part 2, and the dates for the ink only last until 31/7/15. Seem a very short shelf life.

I did notice this too. I would hope that maybe the video was made quite some time ago, to have it ready for launch time.

I can't see the difference with my Ricoh to be honest. The wooden board doesn't really show the new/better colours mentioned in other literature. I would like to see some finished products side by side with reds and blues.
Many thanks

Yes I think an A/B test with original Ricoh and Sublijet-R will have to be undertaken by somebody! I gave up on using Ricoh a long time ago anyway, so this news isn't something that will be of particular use to me, but will be watching it with interest to see if there is anything actually better about it, or if it is indeed just a rebadged Ricoh.

The fact that its colour management is being done by powerdriver is a bit off-putting shouldn't this have a driver that doesn't need powerdriver being installed on top.

this just prove that this printer WAS NOT engineered for sublimation. I think is standard, run of the mill printer that is simply approved by ricoh to use other inks and they will accept warranty.

I don't see myself buying one of these if it had been 6 or 8 colour maybe but theres no way they will have increased the range of colours it can print by much with a few tweeks to a SG3110DN. I think this is probably a bit of a scam dreamed up by sawgrass and ricoh to get us to replace our existing printers and charge a premium price for a SG3110DN.
