If you want to go down licensing brands, then you need to go to something like Brand Licensing Europe at Olympia in October

Hi I owned a t shirt business ( wait for it ) way back in 1986 before the big groups bands single artists started with all the major copyright issues that they have today my main supplier for all these transfers was target transfers who still do some but no music stuff again probably because of copyright and even if you could it would probably cost a small country to licence them the other major player was imagine transfers who were big in all the music stuff as soon as it hit the charts they had a transfer out but as said in previous posts you will be very lucky to find anybody that can supply then.
in saying that I still have hundreds of them lying next to me as we speak which I have had since I shut my shop although they are over 20 years old most off them still print if anyone is looking for anything specific ( older artists) of course let me know and I may be able to help you
out when I bought these they were legal and above board in case this is an issue

Is there a way of getting Music bands etc on a licensed transfer?
In short no ;-)

This is more relevant now that ever before as it is the main source of income for many artists (due to illegal downloads). The official merchandisers are very protective of their license due to the amount of money it costs to purchase. Personally I wouldn't go there but that's easy for me to say as I work within that industry

I get those Brand Licensing Europe through the door all the time, but when you do the sums to buy an official license, unless you are supplying retailers Nationwide/ worldwide, you'll never get your money back. Certainly not by selling online through ebay etc which is why you can spot dodgy sellers a mile off.

I wouldn't blame illegal downloads though social, it's record companies only giving bands pennies in royalties for music sales. Bands relying on merchandise as you say and ticket sales for revenue.

Sorry Gooner, I should clarify...

I am not making/passing comment on the business practices of the music industry, God knows I know how flawed it is :-). It was purely pointing out that due to lost revenue in music sales they have turned their attention to other sources of income, i.e. merchandise.
