Re: Another Newbie question..or two!

Post by DekkaHarris »

Hi
I've decided to go ahead with my mug business set up after designing dozens of images that i'll try and sell (Cross fingers). After reading and being mind boggled i've decided on the Ricoh SG3110DN and using the sublet cartridges.
1) Do you think it'll be cheaper going with a bundle purchase or buying the printer and cartridges separately?
2) Which UK supplier do you recommend?
3) Which sublimation paper prints best?

Thanks very much for your advice and help. Much appreciated

Almost certainly as a bundle

I think BMS are doing a good deal at the moment, but worth checking with other suppliers, specially those who give a discount to premium members of the DSF

3) Which sublimation paper prints best?
I would say TRUPIX for mugs

Hi Dekka,

You want to buy the printer with carts from a licensed Sawgrass dealer. If you buy the printer (say from Amazon) it doesn't matter if your carts come from a dealer, you won't get the warranty support from Sawgrass. As I'm sure you already know, your Ricoh warranty shall be void once you have installed the Sublijet-R carts. Bundles generally offer a great start at reasonable value, and it's possibly desirable to have all the equipment from one place so if you have issues you're only contacting one supplier for guidance rather than several. TruPix paper is a good start point, there are others that do the job nicely though.
