I use to within a few cm's, and have no problem. The heating elements obviously cannot go right to the edge, and the air will cool the edge. Hence the image will fade at the extremes.

Thanks for the advice - I got a feed back saying it perform very well up to the edge - the only thing wrong with it's been used for pressing aluminium and the rubber matt has become sticky and stretched and should probably be replaced - It was suggested I get in touch with www.novachrome.co.uk to purchase. I'll call them Monday.

Not that I could afford it but I saw this package and was interested in the printer.
As one can buy it for around £759 + vat new I was wondering how difficult it would be to convert it has 9 slots for colour - http://silkscreeningprintsupplies.co.uk ... -313-p.asp

Same printer - sub set up

I've been looking on eBay and found many large format Epson printers for sale from 7900 to 9400 to a couple of 9600 - the question is how easy is it to convert these to sublimation printers. Is it the case of simply changing the inks?

Bruno that is massively over priced look on ebay for 3880 You will see what I mean. I don't think the inks supplied will be sawgrass ones either so printer and ink wont be anywhere near 3 grands worth

I was pretty staggered by the price, I wonder how many kits they sell. However I wanted to know how easy it is to convert an Epson printer to a sublimation system - is it a case of changing the inks?

I used to have a cheap epson s22 a4 setup and it was useless, big problems with blockages in my ciss etc so it went in the bin. I want to convert my epson 4800 but I'm worried about the ink quality. Obviously its your choice but The main thing ive read is to purge the inks and use some cleaning carts to rid the printer of the previous inks and once this is complete put your new carts in and prime them which will load the ink lines. You will have colour issues though and will need an Icc profile creating to get a good colour reproduction there's plenty of people on here that can give a better idea of how to do this but its basically that lol
