I have found solvent printers to be very poor printing on canvas, they just don't have the same colour range or vibrance.
years ago I would agree with you, but as the inks have developed I find it to be less so. Especially on something like a Versacamm, afterall they are an Epson head inside anyway, just a different ink passing through it :-) The added benefit is that ability to use white and metallic to create some absolutely stunning effects.

Suppliers I use are

Grafityp are a superb company as already said by Andrew.

VersaCamm I was comparing too. I could not accept the poor colour range when I originally started printing on our Versacamm personally so went down the 8 colour Epson route.

poor colour range
A bit steep in my opinion :-)

Don't get me wrong, pigment printers are slightly better, but an 8 colour Epson has the same head as an 8 colour Roland and the inks are comparable. Personally I feel that I can compromise very slightly on the colour in favour of not having to varnish or cover with something to stop the racking on the edges.

Likewise, with the option of metallic you can get better/different effects

But just an opinion.
