Ricoh are more suited to general office printing but are passable for sublimation unless your needs are more demanding.

not really...just the same as everyone else....frustrated things dont work the way they should...but thats sublimation for you

and i happen to like printers....some strange fetish i had since i was a boy

a hell of a lot is trial n error, which is fine if you got spare cash ( and patience ) kicking about to do that...if you just starting out, one is usually on a budget, so has to be careful on ones purchases.

my needs are always more demanding justin ...but we will get the banding sorted on these things, if only to prove a point to ME....
and they would come in handy, as we could gracefully retire our faithful and very tired epson wf3520's

edit..the epson wf3520's done the job real well for our sublimation needs....nice deep reds and blacks.....till we tried the 1500w....hell yeah !!

However bigi2552- do you have experience with Epson Eco Tank - the CISS is embedded? And they are combo too.

never had one, so cant comment...
if i remember they are only 4 colours as well...1500w has the 6, and in our view, after using other epsons, brothers and ricoh printers, give a lot better colour depth, eps on the blacks and reds....which is what we need

edit..just looked em up...

they only 70ml tanks x 4
the ciss system tanks are 100ml per tank ;)

less time filling them

Blacks and reds are more dependant on your ink choice and ICC profiling, rather than the actual printer.
Epson certainly has had 6 colour EcoTank type printers in the past - they have sold in other countires as the L series for some years - if not available in UK, try Googling to find one you can import - maybe Ebay or Alibaba

not saying it bad, and yes we had good results form our wee 3520's..horses for courses in this game i,m afraid.
what ones finds great, another person will come along a bitch like hell..(me - with the ricohs )
and ..the epson eco is only A4, the epson 1500w is A3....no brainer there really ;)

@pisquee....
we are using the same inks and papers for the 3520 and now for the 1500w....and we find the 1500w has lot deeper blacks and reds after setting up new profile

edit...for gods sake dont have me googling anything printer related m8.....not think i have enough here lol

With regard ICC profile - shall I expect the paper / ink supplier to provide me with a profile for their products or I have to download / purchase it by myself?
