That looks very interesting. I wonder will the technology be better integrated then a standard CISS system. Also, be interesting to see how well they work with 3rd party inks, or if Epson have found some way of stopping people using them.

Anyone bought this printer yet? I like the idea, but I'm curious about the print quality. I would assume that this is a very budget printer but with a different pricing model to compensate for the 'cheaper' ink costs. Pay more for a budget printer and get cheaper inks. Not much good to us though.

Epson L series - been available in Asia for a few years now - there are companies on Ebay that will import to UK.
Apparently you have to enter the barcode from the Epson ink bottles everytime you refill, some users say they just enter the same numbers repeatedly from the bottles the printer came with to use non-Epson inks including sublimation.

Don't they also use dye inks rather than the normal Epson pigment ones. That could also mean that the heads are not the same piezo kind required for sublimation ink, intersting though if heads are the same

It has piezo heads just like every other Epson.
