My printer was supplied with the carts pre-filled with subli ink but the carts are original Epson not the usual clear refill types. I'm assuming these are refilled this way:

My question is, would I be better to replace with the easier, clear refil carts at this stage or is this refil procedure effective enough to run with?

Epson 9600 - Refilling Carts
Re: Epson 9600 - Refilling Carts
Yes, replace - our first pro printer was supplied like this, tried syringing ink into the Epson carts and it burst, so just bought proper refill carts, you can then turn off the ink counters in the printer service menus, so you don't need to take the carts out to reset them, and can easily see the ink levels.

Thought that might be the case, thanks Tim. Any preference to suppliers? I see you can get from China half price but I'm happy to pay more in UK if they're better?
Re: Epson 9600 - Refilling Carts
The ones in the UK are exactly the same as the ones in China, it's where the UK ones come from. If you aren't in a hurry, go to China (ebay or ali), and look for a kit which includes all the carts (make sure the right black carts) along with funnels and resetter. You'll only usually need the resetter for the waste tank, but sometimes the carts forget.
