Is it possible that you have put the sublimation paper in the printer the wrong way around? Common mistake to make that often happens. I also *think* that we use about 140/150 seconds from memory.

Is the mug press heating to the correct temperature? Removing the mug after 180secs at that temperature it should be too hot to touch and only able to be held by the handle.

Webtrekker Ytes the mugs are very very hot I have two fingers to testify to that. Now for the question of the mug being coated well I don't know I have ordered mugs for sublimation have not came in so I went to thrift store picked up A mug with A space to sublimate photo it has one photo on it so I thought it would work.I guess I was wrong. The image already on that mug may have been produced by other methods, eg. screen printing. If you run a fingernail gently over the edges of the image you will be able to feel if it lies on the surface, unlike sublimated images which are 'in' the surface.
