Printing programs

Hi I've been sublimation mugs for a while now and have gradually got busier. My problem is that I'm using Microsoft Paint to size my images on then when I put it to print it goes through the Windows programme. I size it in PAINT at 22cms x 9cms. Then when it comes out its around 18 x 8. I can go the next size up and Mark it out then guillotine it when it's printed but it's a drawn out affair. I have been using a smaller size in the Windows programme and putting two pics on the mug front and back but this means a gap in between the pics and I'm trying to eliminate this to make my mugs better and more professional. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You really need a proper software programme for producing your images. Photoshop, Coreldraw or even the free one GIMP. Also what equipment/ ICC profile are you using to print your items?

MSpaint has big drawbacks compared to the 3 alternatives mentioned above, not the least of which is the ability to use Layers.

If you decide to change (and you should!) then be prepared for an initial steep learning curve, but the rewards will far outweigh the effort.

you can get Photoshop for £10 a month download the free trial and give it a go

paint.net is an ok half way house, but I would suggest corel draw.

i use photoshop and illustrator, both decent for what i need and loads of good tutorials on youtube as im sure there will be for other packages
