Re: Boxes for keyrings

Post by PaulOC »

I have been using the metal rectangular keyrings the most suppliers sell. As you all probably know they all have a great big ‘made in china’ on them.

Does anyone have any good ideas where I can source alternative boxes for them?

Cheers

Paul

How about blister packaging - https://www.mr-blister.com

I haven't priced any of this stuff up though.

I have been heating the label up and removing them but it's just another operation that slows the process down, it's a real pain. I have seen people talk of label remover which I am going to be looking into after the Christmas madness has died down.
It's a shame as the boxes are nice otherwise.

The ones I’ve been getting are actually printed on the top part of the box

I've not come across those, but the boxes I've been getting are black and have an oval "made in China" S/A label stuck on the top or bottom. I have purchased off a few suppliers and they were all the same except the positioning of the made in china label was sometimes on the lid and sometimes on the base.

you could try The Tiny Box Company http://www.tinyboxcompany.co.uk

I'm starting to do some jewellery next year and looking for boxes, there may be something suitable for you.

Hi Paul. This is a MAJOR problem for us as well and we buy ours from Xpres. Sadly the only supplier who sell the better quality type of rectangular style metal Keyring as BMS have now gone down the route of the cheaper alternative. We've talked to Xpres so many times and basically were told that it would cost them more to get the manufacturer NOT to put stickers on the box. Xpres come with both "made in china" and "Xpres product code" stickers. Yes, odd reply. If you also buy then please add pressure as well.

If we were able to find out the manufacturer we would most certainly import a few thousand without stickers and bypass these UK suppliers.

I've not got these but can you not put your own business sticker over theirs? I developed my own packaging for my higher end bracelets, keyrings and pendants as most jewellery boxes on the market are thicker than the large letter postal box meaning a big hike in price to post as a small parcel with royal mail, despite being small x
