Hi,
I am getting a strange problem when sublimating phone case inserts. It seems this happens sometimes only when I print much of plain black color. If you check the pictures - you can see that the black is messed up.. It has these green stains.. Sometimes the print comes out perfect (usually it's good), but sometimes it comes out like this!
What might be the problem?

I have found that metal is ALWAYS touch and go.
With the above I think it is pressure or the print is not dry. If its the print then that would be very easy to fix simply by waiting half an hour before pressing.
I would increase the pressure a little bit and see if that helps with the consistency.
If that makes no difference the consider upping the pressure by 5 degrees and increasing the time by 5 seconds.
I can not be more specific than the above advice as metal is always a hard surface to get consistently perfect results

As Simon says the pressure pay be too high, the marks or blotchy effect is actually caused by the fibres of the paper. Too high pressure presses the paper fibres into the ink transfer resulting these types of marks.
I get it a lot on certain brands or suppliers of coated metal, but on others its perfect so I am careful what metal I buy and from who.
